Buying Property in Eastern Europe
With the PricewaterhouseCoopers Central and Eastern European Real Estate
Conference having recently transpired (April, 2008), there is not a lot of buzz
about some very specific opportunities for buying property in Eastern Europe and
Bulgaria.
The conference was held in Prague, one of the most beautiful capital cities in
Eastern Europe. Here are the top five emerging markets for buying property in
Eastern Europe.
Bulgaria – Since joining the European Union (EU) in 2007, the market has shown
some significant upward movement with the miles and miles of Black Sea coastline
being the target of developers and investors. Another aspect to consider with
Bulgaria’s blossoming economy is the fact that international businesses are
seeing the country as a viable expansion target. An excellent investment in
overseas Property in Bulgaria.
Croatia – The scenario here is pretty much the same as
Bulgaria, proving that
buying property in Eastern Europe is worth investigating. A combination of a
transitional economy and nearly 6,000 km of undeveloped coastline also make
Croatia worthy of investigation for developers and investors alike.
Estonia – Property investors should seek out and target the local market as many
who have already done so have been seeing gains averaging about 30% annually
since 2004.
Hungary – Whenever you are discussing the possibility of buying property in
Eastern Europe, you have to include Hungary. Since joining the EU in 2004, wages
continue to increase, the cost of borrowing money remains low, and the middle
class is growing wealthier. Don’t forget how the tourism market is on a major
upswing as well with Budapest being one of the most popular Eastern European
destinations.
Latvia – Here is another country that is showing significant signs of prosperous
growth since joining the EU (in 2004). The capital city of Riga is being
targeted for developing international business sectors in the financial
services, retailing and telecommunications markets. This further proves the
feasibility of buying property in Eastern Europe.
